Rules-
RULES

EXTEMPORE
1) Each speaker will be given 2 minutes to speak on the topic provided
2) 2 minutes will be provided for preparation
3) Formal language has to be used, no abuses and preferably no slangs either
4) Rules are subject to change as per the judge’s discretion
DEBATE
1) Topic for the debate is
a. ENGLISH : “ The house believes that sex selection persists because the medical community has not said an emphatic ‘NO’”
b. HINDI : “ ”
2) Each speaker will be given 4 minutes to speak on the topic provided (3minutes+1minute for winding up the speech)
3) 1 minute will be provided thereafter for interjection, where a maximum of 2 questions will be allowed (whichever is earlier). No cross questions allowed
4) Prizes awarded are
a. Team prize: Winner and 1st runner up
b. Individual speaker: Winner and 1st runner up
c. Interjector: Winner and 1st runner up
5) Formal language has to be used, no abuses and no slangs either
6) Rules are subject to change as per the judge’s discretion
ELOCUTION
1) Each speaker will be given 5 minutes to speak
2) The speaker has to get his/her own material for speaking (either prose or poetry)
3) You have to get 4 copies of the material apart from your own copy : 3 for judges and 1 for the organizer ( it’s always better to get a few extra copies to avoid problems)
4) You will be judged on the basis of your vocabulary , articulation and quality of your material
5) Rules are subject to change as per the judge’s discretion
POINT-COUNTERPOINT
1) Each speaker will be given 3 minutes to speak : 1 minute for the topic followed by 1 minute against the topic and then one minute for the topic again
2) 3 minutes will be provided for preparation

PRESS CONFERENCE
1) Each participant will receive personality and topic for conference, and 2minutes for thinking, and 2minutes for speaking

MOCK PARLIAMENT
1) Only team entries allowed - a team comprising two people, one will be ruling party and one will be the opposition
2) The ruling party will be given one minute each for preparation and speaking on the topic (to be given at the time of competition). Then t opposition has to then question/defend his/her opinion. The Speaker (one of the judges) can also intervene. Total time per topic will be 4minutes
