...ANTAKSHARI...This year we will make antakshari as a mega event and most probables for compering it are Sachin,Anu Kapoor,Rageshwari.....

1) The Indian light music competition
Categories:
Vocal Solo
Vocal Duets
Chorus
Instrumental Solo
Band Category ( one or more vocalists with at least 3 instruments )
Rules:

Maximum 2 entries per college in any category
Limited entries to be selected on first come first served basis on the spot.
No karaoke cassettes. Interchange of instruments on keyboards not allowed
Participants are allowed to sing without any accompanists.
Maximum of two accompanists on stage permitted for categories a) – d)
* The time limit is subject to minor changes on the spot as per the Judges

2) The Indian classical music competition
Categories :
Carnatic vocal
Hindustani vocal
Instrumental
Rules:
No semi classical or film songs allowed
Accompanists (maximum of two) are compulsory
Accompanists and instruments to be arranged by the participants themselves.
Limited entries to be selected on first come first served basis on the spot
Time limit – 6 minutes *
* The time limit is subject to minor changes on the spot as per the Judges

3) TREMOLO - The western music competition
Categories:
Vocal Solo
Vocal Duets
Chorus
Instrumental solo
Band ( one or more vocalists with at least 3 instruments )
Rules:
Maximum 1 entries per college in any category
Limited entries to be selected on first come first served basis on the spot.
No karaoke cassettes. Interchange of instruments on keyboards not allowed
Participants would be allowed to sing without any accompanists but bonus points would be given for use of accompanists
Maximum of two accompanists on stage permitted for categories a) – d)

4) The western dance competition
Categories :
Solo (4 min)
Couple (4 min)
Group (4 to 12 members) (6 min)
Rules :
Maximum 2 entries per college in any category
Limited entries to be selected on first come first served basis on the spot.
Adjustable light conditions provided.
Facilities for playing recorded music ( Audio cassette only)

5) The Indian dance competition
Categories:
Solo (4 min)
Group ( 6-15 members in a team allowed) classical or folk dance forms permitted (6 min)
Couple ( classical or folk ) (4 min)
Rules :
Maximum 2 entry per college in each category
Limited entries to be selected on first come first served basis
Adjustable light conditions provided.
Facilities for playing recorded music ( Audio cassette only)

6) The Choreography competition
Rules:
An innovative piece involving a synthesis of music and dance around a theme of your choice
Two minutes are given for introducing the theme before the presentation.
Limited entries on first come first served basis will be entertained
No running commentary will be permitted
Members from the team are in charge of lights and sounds themselves
Facilities for playing recorded music ( Audio cassette only)
Time limit – 15 minutes
* The time limit is subject to minor changes on the spot

7) The one act play competition
Rules:
Only one team per college
Limited entries on first come first served basis
Order of performance in the order of registration
No microphones on stage
To be performed under constant light conditions. No spots allowed
Time limit – 40 minutes

8) The twisted film competition
Rules :
Twist any film or TV serial.
Only one team per college ( minimum 4 members).
Limited entries on first come first served basis.
Negative marks for obscenities.
Under general lighting conditions without microphones.
Use of recorded music for song sequence only (on audio cassette), and members are responsible for audio playback.
Time limit – 15 minutes.

9) The street play competition
Rules:
Only one team per college ( at least 5 members).
Limited entries selected on first come first served basis.
To be performed outdoors with minimum of props.
Recorded music not allowed.
Time limit – 15 minutes.

10) Antakshari and Indian Film quiz
Rules:
Two members per team.
Preliminary and final rounds to be held on separate days.

11) The photography contest
Rules:
Photographs must represent different moods of Pulse 2006.
Both B&W and colour photographs are acceptable.
Postcard size only accepted.
Entries to be submitted before the last day of Pulse.
Negatives to be submitted along with the entries.
All entries must carry a short caption.
