Indian Cricket Leaque

Why Pulse 2008 supports the Delhi Giants ?

Cricket is India's lifeline, religion, pastime and hypnotic. Few things match the feeling of striking bat to ball and watching the red sphere soar up, up and away towards the blue sky, and the thrill of victory. Cricket is Indian people's answer to any and every problem. Depressed? Tired? Bored? Run to the nearest stadium or turn on your TV, get in a few hours of good cricket and feel the adrenaline rush through your veins.

In this respect, the initiative taken by the Indian Cricket League is going to be remembered and respected by generations of cricketers and cricket enthusiasts of the future, as the ICL has attempted to fill in the one gap that was startlingly obvious in Indian cricket - the difficulty of playing professional cricket at the domestic level. It is indeed a truth that though cricket enjoys such humongous support in India, junior cricketers face enormous hardship finding support and financial backing for their playing.

Grassroots level building up of India's favorite game is going to revolutionize the cricket scene in a few years, and the beginnings are already visible for all to see. This is the precise reason why Pulse, the annual inter collegiate festival of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, wishes to throw its full support behind the Delhi Giants, our very own hometown team!

Pulse is India's largest medical college student fest, and there is huge participation from all over India, as well as from Delhi University colleges. We believe in youth power, that the young, spirited and the dynamic can achieve anything. That is the common thread we share with the Delhi Giants, which promotes up-and-coming players and supports them at the toughest stage in their career. We at AIIMS are certain that Delhi Giants' players will go on to achieve greatness in the annals of cricket history, and we wish to capture a small bit of that magic by supporting our home team. Let every member of our home team know that there is a huge, cheering crowd here at Pulse backing them!

The drive and fire etched on the faces of the wizards from the Delhi Giants inspires us, and we wish to spread that message to all our delegates at Pulse 2008. We wish the Giants all the very best for their matches. We are definite that they will charge ahead, come out fighting, and bring home victory!

Go Giants!
